Great food and service in a lovely setting. We initially passed by as it advertises Mediterranean cuisine but we wanted Costa Rican food, but the patacones, salsa, guacamole etc were absolutely delicious and they made my wife’s specially without onion. And the juices were sensational!

My girlfriend and I tried a few other places in Santa Elena but this place was by far our favorite. The food, service, atmosphere all incredible. When you ask the waiter what they recommend and they can tell you a specific dish, you know you're in the right place. We had the chicken souvlaki, orange soup, and cheesecake. All tasted homemade and absolutely delicious. Hope we can come back for brunch before we leave because it's that good.

We had a lovely brunch at The Open Kitchen this morning. We ordered the gallo pinto and the egg salad bagel. The gallo pinto was amazing 👏 especially with the red pepper-based salsa picante. The service was very friendly and spoke excellent English. If you stay at the Outbox Inn, you save 10%. We came back the next day for another gallo pinto and the nutella pancakes 🥞.

Amazing food and drinks! Especially during happy hour. We went back a second time. Very friendly and nice staff!! The portions were very generous too which was a first for us in Costa Rica 😆

We loved Open Kitchen! We went twice for breakfast and everything was delicious. They have all kinds of options, including gluten-free and sugar-free items. The food was truly wonderful.
The environment was perfect: small and cozy with a beautiful view of nature. The staff was friendly and very helpful with questions about the local area. Plus, they have free parking right next to the restaurant. Highly recommended!

A very cozy spot for dinner, Sebastian took excellent care of us, and my dietary needs. The gluten free burger buns were incredible, soft and fluffy, but they didn't get soggy or fall apart. By far the best burger bun I have ever had, a must try!

We thoroughly enjoyed a breakfast at this popular spot. We were able to sit down immediately, but that wasn't the case for everyone.

This is the best restaurant in La Fortuna, an absolute must-go! Sebastian was an amazing host, so warm and welcoming. And thank you to Julie who made our delicious G&Ts and cocktails. Food and service 10/10. Best gluten free souvlaki wrap I’ve ever had! Loads of GF, vegan and vegetarian options. Will definitely be recommending this restaurant to everybody who passes through this lovely town.

Exceptional place for breakfast in LaFortuna!! My hubby enjoyed the Eggs Benedict while I had the typical Costa Rican gallo pinto. Both dishes were delicious. For me, the start of the show was the latte! Could just be the best one I’ve ever tasted.

We came here for breakfast and I’m so glad we did! The service, atmosphere, food, presentation. All incredible!! Our server Sebastian was so friendly and knowledgeable. The food was incredible. I got the open breakfast and the pita was insane. All the toppings were so good. I got a fresh OJ as well which was delicious. 10/10 would definitely come back.

Beautiful place, very well located.
We ordered a fruit bowl with passion fruit sauce (the sauce was a bit too sour, but the fruits were delicious), an açaí bowl (the mango wasn’t amazing, but the rest was really good), and a Benedict eggs plate (the bread was incredibly good).
We also had a taro drink, which was delicious, and some iced lattes that were just as good.
Our server was very kind.
